A Canadian lumber company advertised for a lumberjack.

A skinny little guy showed up at the camp the next day carrying an axe. The head lumberjack took one look at the puny little guy and told him to get lost.

"Give me a chance to show you what I can do," protested the skinny guy.

A very new soldier was on sentry duty at the main gate of a military outpost. His orders were clear: No car was to enter unless it had a special sticker on the windshield. A big Army car came up with a general seated in the back. The sentry said, "Halt, who goes there?"

The chauffeur, a corporal, said, "General Wheeler."

"I'm sorry, I can't let you through. You've got to have a sticker on the windshield."

One day a conversation took place between the husband and the wife. The wife was not in a very happy disposition that morning and so she complained:

"You think so much of your old game you don't even remember when you were married."

The husband calmly replied: "Of course I do, my dear; it was the day I sank that 30-foot putt."… Oops… Priorities!

Susan's washing machine quit working so she called a repairman.

Since she had to go to work the next day, she told the repairman, "I'll leave the key with my next door neighbor. Fix the washing machine, leave the bill on the counter, and I'll have somebody send you the payment.

Bernie just finished his training session at the local Hamburger Fast-food company.

So he was a little nervous being behind the register for the first time. His first customer ordered a soda.

The new family in the neighborhood overslept, and their six-year-old daughter missed her school bus. The father, though late for work, agreed to drive her if she'd direct him to the school. They rode several blocks before she told him to turn the first time, several more before she indicated another turn. This went on for 20 minutes - but when they finally reached the school, it proved to be only a short distance from their home.
